C. Douglas Cruce

Age 75, born July 1, 1947, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to the late Manual D. Cruce and T. Pearl (Crank) died on June 9, 2023, after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by siblings Roger, David, Allen, and Karen. He is survived by his wife Anne (Dimond), married July 29, 1969, in Basel, Switzerland; children Jean Kordenbrock, Laura Keyes (Kevin), and Charles Cruce, Jr.; grandchildren William and Joseph Kordenbrock, Patrick, Ruth, and Timothy Keyes, Charles and Robert Cruce; and his brother Thomas Cruce. Doug, a graduate of Wayne State University and Villanova University, and was a real estate broker with Douglas Management. He served in the Michigan House of Representatives and the Michigan State Senate. He was president of the Michigan Insurance Federation. He served in the U.S.M.C. as a Marine Guard in Moscow and Bonn and was a member of the American Legion, the Marine Corps League, and the Marine Embassy Guard Association. Doug was an experienced poker player having played in the World Series of Poker. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Martha Catholic Church, 1100 W Grand River Ave, Okemos, MI 48864 with Rev. Fr. Michael Murray as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 PM & 6:00-8:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 520 East Mount Hope Avenue, Lansing. The Rosary will be prayed Wednesday evening. Visitation will continue Thursday at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
