CAPT. ROBERT S. HUNSBERGER “BOB” USMC – Beloved husband of Norma for 24 years. Loving step-father of Bradley Beshears (Clara) and Bruce Beshears (Amy). Step-grandfather of Crystal, Joshua, Allison, Alec and Aidan. Brother of Betty Jean Way and Rev. David L. Hunsberger (deceased). Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bob was born April 27, 1931 in Souderton, Pennsylvania to Jesse W. Hunsberger and Grace Shade. Upon graduating high school in 1949, he enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served for 30 years. He fought in the Korean and Vietnam wars before retiring with the rank of Captain in 1979. He continued his professional career as Human Resource Manager at Electronic Data Systems and retired after 19 years in 1996. He then started his own business titled Robert S. Hunsberger Consulting, Inc. Bob married Gloria Freed after returning from Korean in 1952. They were together for 37 years until her passing. Bob married Norma Beshears in 1992.

Bob mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. He continued to be active in many Marine Corps organizations including Marine Corps League, Young Marines, and the VFW. Bob frequently reminded us that “Once you’re a Marine… you’re always a Marine”.

Bob was an avid reader and wrote several articles that were published in the Marine Corps Gazette and Leatherneck Magazines. He also co-authored a career management book titled Finding Power Passion and Joy Being at Work, which received an Amazon five-star rating.

Bob was very involved in his church and various other organizations and charities. He taught Sunday school, supported youth group organizations and was active in the adult ministry group. Bob was also very physically active and enjoyed golf and tennis.
