PRICE WILLIAM HARRISON “BILL”, age 79, June 8, 2010 of Troy formerly of Rochester. Beloved husband of M. Susan (Toth) Price. Loving father of Karen Hughes (special friend Gary Amar), William Scott Price (Sarah), Kevin Price and the late Bryan Price. Dear son-in-law of Maria Toth. Loving father of his four legged children Patches, Tigger, Tiger, Stuby, the late Star, the late Brandy, the late Midnight and the late Sable Price. Predeceased by his dear parents William D. and Kathleen Price and sister Kathleen McAfee. Dearest uncle to Nicole Satterfield. Also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and great-nephews. Bill served as a Marine from January 12, 1949 to April 8, 1952 and was in the US Marine Reserve 1952-1960. His duty stations included Parris Island, South Carolina, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, 2d Marine Division, F.M.F, Atlantic. Bill was a graduate of Wayne State University-Department of Mortuary Science June 15, 1955. He founded Price Funeral Home, October 6, 1956 in Troy and operated an emergency ambulance service until June 1974. Bill was a charter member of the Rotary Club of Troy and a staff member of District 6380 (Since September 1957), past President, awarded Paul Harris Fellow. Exchange Club of Troy: member since 1957, Past President and Michigan Exchangite of the Year 1995. Appointed by the Troy City Council to the Troy Historical Commission, June 26, 1972; Founding President of the Rochester Road Business & Professional Association of Troy; member of Clawson-Troy Elks Lodge #2169 (Since October 2, 1960); Wayne State University Alumni Association-Detroit; National and Michigan Funeral Directors Associations and Past President of District 6 M.F.D.A; Past President of Troy Chamber of Commerce; Distinguished Citizen of Troy 1980; past President and board member for many years of the Troy Boys and Girls Club; and the Cpl Stanley L. Moore Detachment of the Marine Corps League, member of Big Beaver United Methodist Church-Troy and former member of Historic Sites Preservation Study Committee-Troy; Memorial Advisory Committee-Troy and a probation officer for 52-4 District Court of Michigan for 20 years as a volunteer. Bill loved to serve his community, loved the Detroit zoo, the Michigan State Fair, loved all his four legged critters, loved to be at his 2nd home in Port Lambton, Ontario, Canada where he watched the freighters go by; loved life and wanted to live forever. Bill will be missed by many and forever live on in all the hearts that he touched.
