James John Slowik

Huntington Woods – James John Slowik, 74, of Huntington Woods, Michigan, passed away March 29, 2022. Loving son of the late John and late Regina Slowik. Jim is survived by his wife Amy Kessler, son Dusty (Kimberly) and granddaughter Caitlin Slowik. Also survived by his brother Thomas (Clara), sisters-in-law Susan Kessler (Bruce Shaw) and Cathy Cordes (the late Daniel Kessler), and nieces and nephews Amanda and Michael Slowik, and Jonathan, Emily and Sarah Shaw. He is also survived by his former wife Gail Duffy. Jim was the brother of late Philip Slowik.

A proud veteran of the US Marines, Jim had a distinguished career as a special agent for United States Department of Labor, Office of Inspector General.

Jim enjoyed traveling the world and was a sports enthusiast. Jim participated as a supernumerary in Michigan Opera productions, proudly represented the US and his community as a torch-bearer in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, and volunteered time and resources to many charities.

A private service was held on April 1, 2022 and a celebration of Jim’s life will be planned. Memories can be shared with the family at
